Research On The Transformation Of China's GVC Embedding

Depending on WIOD database,through compared index of gvc position and the area of value added,the way of China's gvc embedding since 1990s is divided into three stages.The first stage is from the 1990 s to 2004,the stage of China's way of inserting into global value chain is mainly engaged in the assembly processing low value-added value chain link embedded in the east Asian regional value chain,by importing east Asia high-tech additional products,after assembling processing exporting to European and American markets;Second stage from 2005 to 2005,the stage of China's gvc position and gvc embedding location must have taken place in the embedded value chain,gvc position of China from the first stage of the assembly process in low value-added transfer to the high-end link,direct expression is the promotion of the position of the value chain,gvc embedding location in China is no longer depended on the input of east Asia regional value added and the output of value added to the European and American markets,developing region has become the new trend of China's value chain embedding location;The third stage is since 2015,China put forward "One Belt One Road" propose in 2015,hope on the basis of second stage embed mode,finish further adjustment to build China's leading regional value chain in new area.By summarizing the previous literature research,the reasons for the transformation of China's value chain embedding mode are summarized,and the reasons are described with the help of China statistical yearbook and WDI database.There are three reasons why the position of value chain is transferred from the low end to the middle and high end.First,the accelerated introduction of FDI had exposed us to more foreign technology;Second,increasing education input had cultivated a large number of medium and high technology labor force,which has laid a talent foundation for absorbing foreign technology and independent innovation;Third,the continuous increase in investment in research and development has enabled China's manufacturing industry to catch up in technology.,The reason of Value chain embedding location from east Asia to the developing countries and regions is that:First,progress of China's education reduced the number of low skilled Labour,and labor force growth rate slows,increased labor costs,both prompted multinational enterprises transfer to other countries,and promoted China began seeking cheap labor to other developing countries and regions;Second,after years of participation in the division of labor in east Asia,China's industrial allocation has developed in line with that of the east Asian region,and competition has become increasingly fierce;Third,construction of infrastructure in developing countries and regions improve year by year,make these countries have the ability to undertake more division of value chain link,and the huge market potential in developing countries and regions to let China get rid of the "triangular trade" under the dependence on European and American markets.Embedding in global value chain of the third phase of China put forward a "One Belt and One Road"propose,means China's gvc embedding mode transfer from low-end embedded before attached sucker identity to the leader of the high-end embedded identity.Countyies of "One Belt and One Road"adjacent to China,was closely linked in history,at the same time,along with national complex,the obvious difference of factor endowments,can imitate the development of east Asian value chain to build the leading the "One Belt and One Road" value chain,and to undertake high value-added in the value chain link.There are many challenges before China finish high-end embeded through construct region value chain.If China can carry out "One Belt One Road"propose,increase labor capital and R&D invest,prompt manufacturing industry,support China's enterprise going abroad,and take the Chinese responsibility,China will success to the high-end of value chain.
