The employee's task performance is an important supporting force for the survival and development of the enterprise.The positive leadership style is conducive to improving the employees' task performance.However,abusive supervision,a kind of negative leadership style which is currently common in organizations,has a negative impact on employees' attitudes and behaviors,and thus affect the performance of individuals and organizations.Currently,researches on abusive supervision in China are relatively less than which in foreign countries.This study sorted out the domestic and foreign literatures on the study of the impact of abusive supervision on task performance.Then,based on Conservation of Resource Theory,and using a logical deduction method,this study made emotional labor as a mediating variable to explore the influence mechanism of abusive supervision on task performance.This study carried out a questionnaire survey of 281 employees,who work in service-oriented companies and need to conduct much emotional labor in their work.Based on the survey,the following conclusions were drawn:(1)abusive supervision has a significant negative effect on employee' task performance;(2)abusive supervision has a significant negative impact on deep acting;(3)deep acting has a significant positive effect on task performance;(4)deep acting acts as a significant mediating role between abusive supervision and employees' task performance.Based on the research results,this study proposes the following suggestions for improving employee task performance:(1)eliminate abusive acts,and regulate employees' perception of abusive supervision;(2)attach more attention to employees' emotional labor,and encourage employees to adopt deep-acting emotional expression strategies;(3)improve emotional management methods and strengthen emotional management training.
