Recently,the proportion of part-time employee increases sharply in consumer service industry,due to the policy of engaging flexible employment and the growth of part-time position offered with low-cost purpose.Those part-time employees as the same as full-time employees,who take charge of line service.However,the employer has ignored motivating those part-time employees for a long time which led to high turnover rate and high customer complaint rate.Therefore,hiring part-time employees did not decrease the cost of human resource,indeed,it caused more recruiting tasks and negative enterprise reputation.In fact,few researches and mature theories of incentive strategy for part-time employee were studied in mainland.Therefore,this research will take part-time employee from consumer service industry as research object and using grounded theory as main methodology to analyze motivating strategy.From the research,19 categories were found: length of employment,capital of human resource,job content,work purpose,compensation need,development need,promotion need,target requirement,time requirement,material motivation,emotional motivation,work effort,psychological feelings about the degree of motivation,drawbacks during motivation,enterprise culture,belongingness,motivation policy,engagement skill of line manager,resources for motivation.Meanwhile,2 main categories were found: different requirements due to individual differences,the factors of incentive effect and 3 submain categories: individual differences,motivation requirements,motivation measures.Last,this research summaries the incentive strategy of part-time employee as differentiation combination incentive strategy.According to differentiation combination incentive strategy,this research makes following suggestions from two perspectives: satisfied distinctive motivation needs and promoted incentive effect.The suggestions are: telling different incentive needs,stipulating regular incentive measures,molding enterprise culture to improve the feelings about the degree of motivation and belongingness,cultivating line manager's engaging skill.The results of this research will not only help consumer service enterprises to choose the most suitable part-time employee incentive strategies and improve their incentive effect,but also expand existing research of employee motivation.
