With the advancement of broadband China,fiber-to-home has become the primary Internet option for network surfing.As an integral part of the existing communication network architecture,the broadband optical access network enables the information exchange between users and data centers.Passive optical network(PON),as a classic broadband optical access network,is quite mature in the market.In recent years,facing the rapidly growing fifth generation(5G)communication technologies,broadband optical network systems not only need to achieve high-speed and large capacity information transmission,but also need to flexibly and timely meet the demands of multiple users.According to actual needs,probabilistic shaping technology is utilized to optimize high-order code modulation.Therefore,this paper studies the application of probabilistic shaping technology in broadband optical access networks.This thesis focuses on the key technologies of probabilistic shaping in broadband optical access.The emphasis is on the implementation of probabilistic shaping based on quadrature amplitude modulation technology as well as the flexible application of probabilistic shaping in broadband optical access networks.Combined with 5G multi-carrier modulation method to expand the transmission capacity and further improve the transmission performance of the system.Carrier-less amplitude and phase(CAP)modulation is employed to realize the transmission of probabilistic shaped signals in the intensity-modulated/direct-detection(IM/DD)short-distance optical fiber communication system.It is proved that the probabilistic shaping can be used in future broadband optical access networks to obtain lower bit error rate and lower transmitted power.The main work and innovations of this paper are as follows:1)The multiple probabilistic shaping distribution scheme is proposed.The joint modulation method of constant composition distribution matcher(CCDM)probabilistic shaping and filter bank multi-carrier technology is studied in this paper.2)The novel multi-level constellation compression modulation scheme is also put forward used in generalized frequency division multiplexing passive optical network systems.It is based on the fixed symbol-level label probabilistic shaping method,which is suitable for probabilistic shaping of lower-order signals and large-capacity point-to-point transmission.3)The joint probabilistic shaping method based on CCDM probabilistic shaping and multi-level constellation compression modulation was proposed.Switching between two different probabilistic shaping schemes in a system can not only flexibly realize the point-topoint transmission,but also meet the flexibility requirements of multiple users.
