Research On Massive Data Storage By Blu-ray & HDD Integrated Based On Blu-ray Technology

With the popularity and wide application of the Internet,video data,audio data,image data,and document data generated by human society have exploded,the age of Big Data has arrived.According to IDC's "Digital Universe" research report,it is estimated that by 2020,the total amount of global data will exceed 40ZB(about 40 million TB),how to store these data safely,reliably,long-term and low-cost,become the first problem to be solved in the development of human information technology in the age of Big Data.However,the traditional method of data storage by disk or tape has problem such as high cost,high energy consumption and high risk,and it is difficult to achieve a balance between information technology development and environmental sustainability.In this study,the Blu-ray storage technology is used as the basic space,we made the Blu-ray & HDD integrated system can manage Blu-ray storage space and HDD storage space in one system.Then we set the storage strategy is based on The 80/20 Rule and industry situation,it can can reasonably allocate storage media to achieve effective and economical on data storage.The work is as follows:1.Through the API of Blu-ray storage technology,the channel of the storage gateway to the Blu-ray storage space is opened.Users can operate on the HDD storage space and the Blu-ray storage space on the storage gateway,such as data storage operation,data archiving operation and so on.The database on the storage gateway manages the data information,and the status value is used to indicate the storage space of the data object.The data object maybe is in the HDD storage space,in the Blu-ray storage space,or in both storage spaces.2.The data storage strategy is designed based on the database information of the storage gateway and The 80/20 Rule.The strategy marks the "cold data" data by the "cooling time",then executes the data archiving operation to store the data object in the Blu-ray storage space.The data object,in the Blu-ray storage space,also have a duplication in HDD storage space,so we defind the recycle operation which deleting the space of duplication.The user can set the parameters of the above two strategies,and the program will be executed automatically.Because of the auto-program,human resources will be released.The storage of massive data will be possible in the future.
