Design And Implementation Of EtherCAT/TSN Adapter

EtherCAT is a real-time Ethernet,with strong real-time and certainty,and has been widely used in the field of industrial control.However,the integration of EtherCAT and information network is not only difficult,but also requires a large cost.The emergence of Time Sensitive Networking(TSN)makes the integration of Operational Technology(OT)and Information Technology(IT)possible.To this end,this thesis designs a method for EtherCAT network adaptation TSN,which provides an effective solution for the integration of OT and IT.Firstly,this thesis analyzes the current background and research status of real-time industrial Ethernet adaptation TSN technology,and takes EtherCAT adaptation TSN as the starting point.In view of the technical characteristics of both EtherCAT and TSN,a method for EtherCAT adapting TSN was designed.The method mainly includes EtherCAT / TSN data conversion,clock synchronization and stream reservation.Next,this design uses LS1021 A as the hardware platform of the adapter to implement EtherCAT adapting to TSN.According to the characteristics of the two data frame formats of EtherCAT and TSN,the corresponding EtherCAT/TSN data structure is designed,and a priority mapping method is designed to realize the data conversion function of the two protocol types of EtherCAT/TSN.The g PTP slave clock function also has been implemented on the adapter,which has been realized delay measurement and clock deviation compensation that can enable clock synchronization with TSN node.At the same time,the MSRP bandwidth reservation program has been depolyed on the adapter,which include the MSRP software structure designing,function module designing,data structure designing,process designing and so on.EtherCAT devices can connect to TSN switches throughout adapters to establish stream reservation links.Finally,by building a physical verification platform,the EtherCAT/TSN adapter was functionally tested and verified.The experimental results show that the EtherCAT/TSN adapter can correctly convert EtherCAT and TSN data formats,and the clock synchronization accuracy can reach sub-microsecond level,and can achieve the MSRP service function.
