Network emulation is an important support for network security technology evaluation,network attack and defensive drills,and new network technology verification.Distributed network emulation based on cluster computing environment can effectively meet the needs of large-scale network scenario evaluation.For a given cluster computing environment,it is of great significance to divide the large-scale virtual network topology and map it to different computing nodes,that is,to realize reasonable virtual network mapping,so as to effectively improve the utilization of physical resources and the performance of network emulation.A reasonable virtual network mapping should take into account the heterogeneity of the computing environment and the diversity of virtual network resource requirements to achieve the load balancing among computing nodes and the minimization of remote communications.In response to this problem,this paper focuses on the multi-objective optimization mapping method that takes into account the heterogeneity of computing environments and the diversity of virtual networks.The main research contents include:1)A multi-objective optimization mapping method for homogeneous computing environment(MOTM)is proposed.The main idea is as follows: First,the impact of throughput on the mapping is studied to include it into the influencing factors.Then analyze the resource requirements of CPU,memory and bandwidth of virtual nodes and virtual links in the virtual network and assign corresponding weights,and convert the virtual network into a weighted virtual network topology.Then,a multilevel graph partitioning algorithm is used to divide the weighted virtual network topology map,thereby obtaining a mapping result that takes into account the load balance of resources such as CPU,memory,and bandwidth.Finally,the mapping results of the multilevel graph partitioning algorithm are adjusted for the remote throughput threshold,and the load balance and the remote communications among the computing nodes are finally realized.The experiment shows that compared with the random virtual network mapping method and OpenStack virtual network mapping method,the load imbalance index decreases by 95.5% and 66.5% on average,and the remote communication overhead index decreases by 65.2% and 69.1% on average.2)Based on the research content of 1),further oriented to heterogeneous computing environment and diversified virtual networks,the multiscale integration mapping method for heterogeneous environment(MIM-HE)was proposed.In order to ensure the reproduction of large-scale virtual network in a limited computing environment,this method integrates full virtualization,lightweight virtualization and digital simulation,three emulation technologies with different requirements of computing resources.And the method can be selected flexibly when the computing power is limited.First,based on the evaluation of the computing power of the cluster,determine the corresponding mapping strategy.Then,according to the different resources such as CPU,memory and bandwidth that can be provided by the heterogeneous computing environment,the corresponding emulation methods are determined for different topology areas in the virtual network to realize the elastic matching between the resource requirements of the virtual network and the computing capacity of the cluster.Then,perform virtual network mapping that takes into account load balancing and the smallest amount of remote communication.Finally,the mapping results are optimized to improve load balancing.Experiments show that,compared with the traditional load balancing mapping method and random virtual network mapping method,the load imbalance index of MIM-HE is reduced by 44.68% and 81.81% on average,and the remote communication overhead index is reduced by 15.01% and 49.18%.3)Combining the proposed virtual network mapping methods of 1)and 2),and integrating full virtualization,lightweight virtualization,digital simulation and physical network,a multiscale integration virtual network mapping system is designed and implemented.Experiments show that the system can effectively support the multiscale integration network emulation with full virtualization,lightweight virtualization,digital simulation and physical equipment and virtual network mapping,and realize the connectivity,transparency and scalability and automatic functions.The emulation experiment based on large-scale worm diffusion shows that the designed system can effectively support the emulation of large-scale network security events.
