With the development of mobile communication technology,the popularization of distributed base stations in military and civil communications becomes more and more important.Data link based on CPRI protocol,as the connection module of distributed base station,needs to have high reliability and transmission rate.The proposed CPRI protocol for distributed base stations can meet the needs of flexible transformation between different networking modes and different transmission modes,and ensure the accuracy and scalability of data transmission.In the whole distributed base station,CPRI data link is very important as an effective transmission module connecting the radio frequency remote unit and the baseband processing unit.The purpose of this paper is to design a CPRI data link which can be quickly networked and has stable link transmission quality,aiming at the problems of low transmission rate of data link based on distributed base station design and the frame structure of CPRI can not be customized,and combining the advantages of Arria 10 chip which can provide higher transmission rate and customized frame structure.The design content revolves around the data link module of radio frequency remote unit,and describes the design scheme of CPRI link and peripheral module in detail.The design is divided into two stages: the first stage,customizing CPRI IP core,designing downlink data extraction module and AUX interface module to realize frame transmission,interleaving the extracted data,and customizing a frame structure based on CPRI protocol;Segment,detailed design for peripheral modules,develop reset control module,register configuration module,delay measurement module,Ethernet module and vendor-specific information reservation module,cooperate with CPRI IP core to make it compile successfully and establish data link.Document reading and validation analysis are needed to complete the design of this paper.Through reading the technical literature such as CPRI protocol,CPRI IP manual,Arria 10 data manual and so on,we can fully grasp the required technology,and design the CPRI link by using Quartus Prime software and simulate the function of the sub-module by using ModelSim software.The test results show that the design supports communication between distributed base station subsystems and achieves the CPRI module with a transmission rate of 2.4576 Gbps,and the performance meets the expected requirements.Summarizing the design of this paper,CPRI data link module has achieved the design goal,but only a few logical resources are used.Arria 10 hardware platform can support higher transmission rate.With the system's requirement for transmission rate,this hardware platform can provide higher transmission rate.
