With the rapid development of Internet video service, transmission bandwidth is facing huge pressure and more efficient video coding standards are in urgent need from the market. As representatives of the new generation of video coding standard, both HEVC and AVS+ performs well in terms of compression efficiency. However, the computation complexity of video encoders based on these new standards are generally very high, which limits their promotion. As a result, research on real-time software video coding techniques of the HEVC and AVS+ standard is quite meaningful. In this thesis,we first proposed a fast intra mode and depth decision algorithm for HEVC encoder based on the differences of intra prediction mode coding bits of MPMs and non-MPMs,which can effectively reduce the complexity of intra coding in x265 and make it more suitable for real-time coding.Secondly,we utilized the newest x86 SIMD instruction set: AVX2 to optimize the sub-pixel interpolation module and DCT/IDCT module in xavs encoder, which significantly improved its encoding speed. We also successfully built the real-time software video coding system and optimized it by intergrating it with a self-adaptive speed-control module. The system can achieve single-channel HD video coding with the HEVC standard and eight-channel SD video coding with the AVS+ standard.
