With the plan <Made in China 2025> put forward,the intelligent manufacturing industry in our country,represented by industrial robots,is facing the unprecedented development opportunities.The palletizing robot,which is the industrial robot with the most mature technology and the mostwidely use,has excellent development prospects.The traditional palletizing robots,is mostly designed by the superposition of mechanical levers,so that it has dull form,being lack of beauty,with great homogenization as well.As people are improving the pursuit of beauty,under the same circumstances of technology,the competitiveness of a palletizing robot greatly depends on its form.So an outstanding design must take into account both the beauty and the mechanical performance requirements.At present,the design of palletizing robots usually simple focus its beautiful appearance,but not the practical value.This paper,focusing on the problem above,will explain the features of the form design of palletizing robots and the principles must be followed,basing on the research project of one of the robot companies in Nanjing.It also analyzes models of palletizing robots of different brands,for the summary of the tendency of the design of palletizing robots.With the reference of the design flow of palletizing robots,this article introduces the design and the modeling of the ER100 Palletizing Robot on its appearance,color and material,with the methods related to the design of products.And then,the dynamic simulation of the designed model is carried out to find the maximum value of the dynamic force and moment by analyzing the stress of the key components of the palletizing robot during the acceleration and deceleration motion of the joints in the risk gesture.Then,the finite element analysis of key components of the palletizing robot is performed to check the strength and stiffness of the palletizing robot and confirm that the pre-design of the model conforms to the engineering application requirements by using d' Alembert principle,which assumes the dynamic force as a static force.Meanwhile,based on the results of finite element analysis,the palletizing robot is designed to meet the aesthetic and safety requirements of lightweight design.Finally,the overall form design of the ER100 Palletizing Robot is completed.
