Microwave photonics is a new technology combining the microwave technology and photonics technology,with various advantages in transmitting and processing microwave and optical signals.Thus microwave photonics is regarded as a potential disruptive technology in the microwave and photonic field.For examples,utilizing optical delay line to implement beam-forming can avoid the ‘beam squint' problem and enhance the accuracy of the beam steering.Microwave photonic filters,with advantages of large bandwidth,tunability and reconfigurability,can meet various demands of microwave systems in different applications.Nowadays,integration has become a main development trend of microwave photonics.Utilizing integrated microwave photonic technology is capable to enhance the system stability,as well as reduce the system volume and weight.Therefore,researching integrated microwave photonic technologies such as on-chip optical delay lines and integrated microwave photonic filters has important theoretical and practical significance.In the thesis,the researches on integrated optical delay line and microwave photonic filter based on microring resonator and waveguide Bragg gratings are implemented.Firstly,the resonant wavelength shift problem in a microring resonator is studied,and a new tuning method based on the microring resonator with Mach-Zehnder-interferometer couplers is proposed to retard this problem.In addition,a proof-of-concept two-dimensional beam-forming experiment based on a single microring resonator is demonstrated through optical carriers tuning method.Then a tunable and reconfigurable microwave photonic filter based on a micronring resonator and single sideband modulation is theoretically and experimentally analyzed.Finally,a new chirped waveguide Bragg grating structure with two pitches is proposed to serve as a multi-channel optical delay line,which is possible to reduce the amount of time delay lines in a beam-foriming system.
