With the development of wireless networks and the popularity of mobile devices,the demand for location-aware services is increasing,leading to widespread attention in wireless indoor localization technology.The fingerprint-based localization is simple in principle,low in cost and universal in popularity.It is a mainstream indoor localization solution whose localization performance depends on the location and number of access points and beacons.Existing research shows that by optimizing the deployment location of access points and beacons can improve the localization accuracy of fingerprint-based localization.However,there are still some problems,including ignoring coverage requirements and pre-existing access points and beacons in the environment,and not considering the location optimization of access points and beacons in heterogeneous wireless network environments.This paper studies the above issues,proposes an access point and beacon deployment optimization algorithm,and implements a WiFi access point and bluetooth low energy(BLE)beacon deployment optimization software for hybrid fingerprint-based localization.This paper proposes the Coverage-CRLB algorithm for access points and beacons deployment optimization based on Cramér-Rao Lower Bound(CRLB)and genetic algorithm.The algorithm adopts CRLB as the metric of localization errors and uses the number of access points and beacons receiving valid signals at the reference point as the measure of coverage,optimizing the location of newly deployed APs and beacons in the existing heterogeneous wireless network environment in terms of location error and coverage.The simulation results show that the proposes algorithm outperforms the access points deployment optimization algorithms which based on Fisher Information Matrix(FIM)and maximizing fingerprint difference in localization errors.At the same time,it's better than the access points deployment optimization algorithms using exhaustive search algorithm in terms of time efficiency.Experimental results in real scenes show that the average localization errors of the deployment scheme obtained by this algorithm is lower than the access points and beacons deployment optimization algorithm for maximizing fingerprint difference.According to the actual application requirements,this paper designs and implements a WiFi access point and BLE beacon deployment optimization software for hybrid fingerprint-based localization based on the open source toolkit GeoTools.It supports wireless signal strength simulation,positioning error assessment,access points and beacons deployment optimization,and GeoTools provides a set of methods for operating and displaying map space data.In this paper,the software is fully tested by the black box testing.The test results show that the software meets the functional and performance requirements and runs stably.In summary,the proposed algorithm Coverage-CRLB can effectively optimize the location of access points and beacons in terms of localization errors and coverage.At the same time,the design and implementation of a WiFi access point and BLE beacon deployment optimization software for hybrid fingerprint-based localization can provide a reliable reference scheme for APs and beacons deployment of fingerprintbased localization system,which has high practical value.
