Application Of Tour Guides Based On Content-based Image Retrieval

In recent years,along with our country economy level rising,the prompt progress of transportation construction,the tourism industry in China ushered in the golden period of vigorous development.New ideas gradually emerged in the pursuit of the tourism industry.A lot of people preferred a creative and reduce travel expenses way to travel.Visitors to visit tourist destinations do not usually know the specific names of the scene and the background of it.Therefore,the developing of this retrieval application is very useful.We use mobile media as our application platform,use content-based image retrieval technology to retrieve some main spots in some of the scenic areas,achieve the goal of travel by traveler themselves.In this paper,we implements an improved perceptual hash algorithm for image retrieval and build a similar retrieval system based on the Android platform,focusing on the characteristics of the image extraction,matching technology,the establi.shment and use of the database,the server set up,the server and client interaction,Android UI design techniques.Though this application tourists can directly get the information about the view attraction immediately by the photo which taken from the tourists' phone with picture matching technology.After completed all the system architecture design and function design,we implement an image retrieval system based on content in use of all the mentioned technologies above.With the simulator and real smart phone test of the system,the high recognition rate of the landscape image shows that the system is running well and it has achieved the expected goals.
