Array antennas are widely used in mobile communication,radar,satellite communications and other systems.In these systems,it is often desirable that the array antenna can achieve a certain desired radiation pattern,also known as the array antenna beamforming.The beamforming optimization problem of the array antenna is solved by the evolutionary algorithm to control the element position,the element amplitude and phase to obtain a desired pattern.In this paper,the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm(SaDE)is used to control the element position of linear arrays to obtain single-null pattern and multi-null pattern;The element amplitude of linear arrays is controlled to obtain the wide-null pattern;The element amplitude of the planar array is controlled to obtain single-null pattern and wide-null pattern;The element amplitude and the element phase of the linear array are controlled to obtain the cosecant square pattern and flat-top pattern.The main work and innovations of this paper are as follows:1.The research significance of the array antenna beamforming is analyzed.The current research status of evolutionary algorithms in beamforming of array antennas is introduced.2.The basic theory of the array antenna is introduced.The pattern function of uniform linear array and non-uniform linear array are analyzed.The pattern function of the planar array is analyzed.Some basic concepts of array antenna are given.3.Based on the traditional differential evolution algorithm,the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm is analyzed,and a suitable fitness function is designed.The self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm is used to control the element position of linear arrays to form single-null pattern and multiple-null pattern.The simulation results are compared with the results of the existing literature which use the other evolutionary algorithms,and the effectiveness of the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm on the synthesis of single-null pattern and multi-null pattern is proved;The self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm is applied to control the element amplitude of the linear array to form wide-null pattern.The simulation results are compared with the results of the existing literature which use the other evolutionary algorithms.It is proved that the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm is effective in the synthesis of wide-null pattern.4.On the basis of the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm,the element amplitude of the planar array is controlled to form single-null pattern and wide-null pattern.The experimental results show that the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm is effective in the null-pattern synthesis of planar arrays.5.Using the self-adaptive differential evolution algorithm,the element amplitude and the element phase of the linear array are used as the optimization variables to form the cosecant square pattern and the flat-top pattern,and the simulation results are compared with the results of the existing literature which shows that the adaptive differential evolution algorithm effectively shapes the cosecant square pattern and the flat-top pattern.
