This analysis presents a content analysis of three-year New York Times coverage of climate change.It is based on the perspective of social construction,and discussed in terms of framing and the social arena concept of risk debates.This analysis is conducted in 5 parts.The first chapter is introduction,providing the research background,research questions and values,reviewing the history of development of concepts of climate change and risk construction and also carding some related terms.The second chapter expounds research methods and design of this analysis.The third chapter gives a quantitative analysis of 561 effective samples in aspects of issue-attention cycle,frames,actors and social resources.The fourth chapter is the core chapter.It clarifies the characteristics of media risk construction based on results of chapter two,and explores the possible factors.The last chapter provides the research conclusion limitations and suggestions.
