Safety is always the most important concern of people.In order to improve traditional visual surveillance systems by means of science and technology,a pedestrian tracking and capturing system based on PTZ camera is proposed in this paper.The working process of this system is as follows.First,the tracking module calculates the location and size of the target.Then the control module drives the rotating and zooming of the platform to ensure that the target always appears in the center of the field of view,and captures high-resolution images.The main work of this paper is as follows:In order to meet the robustness,adaptability and real-time requirement of pedestrian tracking system,this paper improves Struck algorithm,which is an online learning tracking algorithm.In feature extraction,to solve the problem that single Haarlike feature is not light invariant,Haar-like feature is fused with gray-scale Raw feature.The operation speed of Raw feature is improved in this paper.Compared with histogram feature and single Haar-like feature,the fused feature can achieve better tracking effect when light condition changes or background color is similar to the target.Combining with the idea of particle filter,this paper proposes a new search method in motion estimation to replace the sliding window method in original Struck.The position and size of the target are determined by a large number of particles,which overcomes the disadvantage that the original algorithm cannot adapt to scale changes of the target.The proposed method has better performance in tracking scenes such as pedestrian postural changing or camera rotating and zooming.Several experimental results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms original Struck and traditional algorithms in tracking success rate and center position error.It can also offer real-time capabilities of pedestrian tracking systems.The camera lens is calibrated and a pedestrian tracking and capturing system based on PTZ camera is constructed.In this paper,the control algorithm is divided into three parts: initialization part,Pan/Tile control part and Zoom control part.Each control strategy is designed one by one.When bulding the system,the tracking algorithm and control algorithm proposed in this paper are combined together.The experiments prove the effectiveness of the system in tracking pedestrian targets.
