Steganography is used for information hiding by embedding secrets information in common carriers,which provides efficient methods for covert communication under open access channel.Color image adaptive steganography considers the mutual influence between color components and chooses the embedding positon and modification types according to characteristics and texture complexity,which aims to reduce the influence of embedding operation as much as possible and improve the security of information hiding.Thus,the main contributions of this paper are as follows:1.The model of color image adaptive steganography based on distortion cost is proposed.Through the study of relationship between embedding modification and color image distortion,draw the conclusion that the distortion cost is related to embedding method strategy,length of secrets and the statistical properties of color image.On this basis,the model of color image adaptive steganography with distortion cost is constructed,and the formalization description and example validation of the proposed model is also presented.2.An initial distortion cost measurement scheme based on co-occurrence feature and Fisher ensemble classifiers is proposed.Considering the correlation between distortion and embedding influence for color image correlation,the correlation characteristic is presented by the study of image-forming principle.After that,a formal description about the color image correlation is produced based on co-occurrence feature.On this basis,a color image distortion function is designed for initial distortion allocation by using the Fisher ensemble classifiers to distinguish the difference between cover and stego images.Experimental results show that the proposed distortion cost allocation scheme can effectively improve the performance of color image adaptive steganography.3.A color component distortion cost dynamic update scheme is proposed based on neighboring correlation.According to the complicated correlation characteristic of color images,neighboring correlation guidance for color components is proposed by analyzing the relationship between six color components of local region.Under the proposed guidance,the optimal distortion cost adjust guidance is presented,which is proved by both theory and practice.After that,the guidance of distortion cost update and distortion update scheme are proposed.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can effectively improve the accuracy of distortion cost,and also promote the security performance of steganography algorithms.4.A color image adaptive steganography and cover communication system based on distortion cost is proposed.Under the guidance of color image adaptive steganography model based on distortion cost,an adaptive color image steganography algorithm is presented by using initial distortion cost allocation scheme and distortion cost update scheme.Therefore,a covert communication system based on color images is established on the basis of the proposed algorithm.
