It has important application value in military and civil fields to carry out all-weather,real-time high-resolution radar detection,imaging and recognition.To achieve these functional requirements,the radar system should have a large operating bandwidth and fast data acquisition and processing capability.But limited by “electronic bottleneck”,it's difficult to generate,manipulate and process broadband signals based on electronic technologies.However,microwave photonics technology with high bandwidth,low loss and free of electromagnetic interference can be used to realize the generation,transmission and processing of microwave signal,which has opened up a new direction for future radar technologies.In this paper,the research of real-time high-resolution radar based on microwave photonics technology is conducted.A new scheme based on microwave photonics for broadband radar signal generation,receiving is proposed.The main research contents include the following three aspects:1.Two frequency multiplication technologies based on microwave photonics for high frequency,broadband linear frequency modulation signal are studied.The details of frequency multiplication methods are analyzed theoretically;The dual-band frequency quadrupled and 12-tupling frequency multiplication system are demonstrated experimentally,the signal quality are analyzed;Finally,the frequency multiplication system's reconfigurable are demonstrated.2.The real-time high-resolution radar system based on microwave photonics technology is proposed and studied.The technical details of the photon radar system are analyzed theoretically;The quality of the broadband detection signal of the radar transmitter and the performance of the radar receiver based on the photonic mixing technique are experimentally studied;The experimental results show that the photonics radar has a high accuracy ranging from single/double targets detection,and the distance resolution is ~ 1.9 cm.3.The real-time high-resolution ISAR imaging capability of the microwave photonics radar is experimentally analyzed and verified.The experiment demonstrated the feasibility of real-time ISAR imaging,which can realize two-dimensional resolution ~2 × 2 cm;Finally,an ISAR real-time capture of non-cooperative target unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)demonstrates the practical applicability of the photonics radar.
