With the rapid development of video information processing technology in industrial fields,video applications are widely used in more and more fields and video chips are used in all areas of life.Due to the impact of image acquisition tools,the output video formats of the video chips are different.In order to realize the automatic testing of different video chips,in this thesis,we develop and design a multi-standard video chip test platform based on the advantages of software and hardware.In this thesis,the research of architecture of the multi-standard video chip test platform was studied and the system modules were divided according to the function.The software is composed of the host computer subsystem which is responsible for the video comparison and process control.The hardware part is composed of video decoding subsystem,video transmission subsystem and video acquisition subsystem.The hardware part is responsible for video decoding and fidelity video transmission.Video transmission subsystem is the kernel part of the hardware and this subsystem is designed on the Xilinx Spartan6 series field programmable gate array(FPGA)development board.In this thesis,the overall architecture and workflow of platform were planned,the realization of each subsystem and the critical components were introduced in details.The discriminant standard of the chip was also studied.Since the final object of the image is human,according to the physiological and psychological characteristics of human visual system especially the visual masking effect,an image quality assessment model based on edge feature segmentation was proposed.The test results in the four benchmark databases show that the image quality assessment algorithm has high performance for all distortion types and this algorithm is closer to the subjective perception of the human visual system.The assessment criteria are more in line with the subjective standard.The hardware of the multi-standard video processing chip test platform can realize the decoding and data lossless transmission with less resource consumption.Software can complete the image quality assessment of the video processing chip.The combination of software and hardware can achieve the video chip testing.
