In recent years,with the rise of big data technology,more and more attention has been paid to the research of data storage.However,the current research focuses on the reliability and efficiency of storage,while energy consumption of the storage system has not aroused enough attention.However,in some specific scenarios,the energy consumption problem will be the key point of the entire storage system,and energy conservation has become one of the most important factors that must be considered in various designs.This paper is to study the energy control of the storage system,and to propose an effective and feasible energy control scheme.The main research content of this paper is the hardware design and implementation of the large scale hard disk group energy control system.The main idea of this paper is that every read or write operations will not involve of all the hard disk of the large scale hard disk group,we just have to turn on the power of the hard disk drives that needed,and turn off the power of the hard disk that do not need,this will reduce the power of the system.The hardware control system of this paper consists of four parts: communication part,data processing part,shift register part and execution unit part.These four parts are relatively independent and have its own functions respectively,but they have effective data transmission between them.The communication part is mainly responsible for receiving data from the PC,and transmitting the data to the data processing part;the data processing part is mainly responsible for processing the communication data,and transmits the data to a shift register;the shift register part is used to extend the output port of control part,in order to increase the number of the disks of the control system,the shift register part send the data to the execution unit;the execution unit is responsible for carrying out commands that data processing part issued,eventually turning on or off the power of hard disk.The communication part uses the USB communication protocol,and the hardware is mainly composed of a USB controller chip CH372 and its peripheral circuit,which supports plug and play characteristics.The data processing part mainly uses the domestic MCU chip STC90C58RD+ to process the data,uses the 11.0592 M crystal oscillator to provide the clock signal,satisfies the data processing demand of this paper.The shift register part mainly adopts SN74595 to realize the shift register,which can be cascaded.This chip includes the latch so that the output data will notchange until the setting of data is completed.The core circuit of the execution unit is the OMRON solid state relay G3VM-41 hr and its drive circuit.The system finally uses the relay to switch the power of hard disk drives.In the final of this paper,each module of the system and the system as a whole is tested.Test results show that this system can work reliably and stably,reduce the consumption of energy in different extent,according to the average number of the hard disks that work simultaneously.
