Since the Bluetooth SIG released the BLE Mesh standard V1.0 in November 2017,the research on BLE Mesh network,which means bluetooth low energy Mesh network,has become a research hotspot in the field of Internet of Things.In the past research results,the BLE Mesh solution between different companies and research institutes has the problem of poor interoperability.The standard solves this problem,and highlights the advantages of BLE Mesh network,such as low power consumption,large coverage,strong compatibility,and outstanding security performance,making it a highly competitive communication method,and a widely used solution in IoT scenarios such as smart home,building automation,and smart city.However,since the BLE Mesh standard has not been put forward for a long time,the research on its complete solution is still in its infancy,and from the academic point of view,there is still a high room for improvement in network latency and throughput performance.Therefore,this thesis studies the routing mechanism and networking mechanism of BLE Mesh network in detail,optimizes and improves the delay and throughput performance of BLE Mesh network from three aspects: self-provisioning,opportunistic routing and user cooperation.In order to maintain backward compatibility with traditional Bluetooth devices,the networking mode of the BLE Mesh network is still manually,i.e.the users need to configure and start provisioning through the central device.Therefore,this thesis first improves the provisioning protocol proposed in the BLE Mesh standard.The intelligent and convenient self-provisioning protocol is obtained,and the network delay metric is optimized from the perspective of network provisioning.Secondly,there are nodes entering and leaving the network frequently,which reveal an unstable physical topology in the BLE Mesh network scenario.Therefore,this thesis proposes an opportunity routing optimization protocol to solve the problem that the actual performance of the traditional opportunistic routing protocol is not ideal in the BLE Mesh network,which improves the backup node set and coordination strategy comprehensively,and optimize the network delay and throughput metrics from the perspective of the routing mechanism.Finally,in order to further optimize the performance of BLE Mesh network from the perspective of single-hop link based on the opportunity routing optimization protocol above,this thesis proposes a mechanism for user cooperative routing,which helps the cooperative relay of the one-hop link with poor communication quality through the user's mobile device,further improving the network's delay metric.Although the research results of this thesis ignore certain realistic conditions and have certain limitations,they provide a certain direction and research basis for the research and optimization of BLE Mesh networks.In the future research work,a lot of modeling and testing should be carried out on the above directions,and further optimization and improvement should be made according to the evolution of the BLE Mesh standard.
