As media services,especially video services have become the major services on Internet,the demands for video contents also become more restrict.The traditional HD videos(1080p)already failed to satisfy customs' needs for videos with high definition,high fluency and high fidelity.Thus panorama videos with its immersive experience are brought to users in this context.Although the users' experience can be guaranteed by panorama videos,the bandwidth burden brought to Internet by panorama videos is also very challenging.To solve this bandwidth-usage problem,dynamic streaming is adopted as a solution in academia.As well as its superiority in bandwidth saving,the dynamic streaming solution still faces some unsolved problems.To optimize the current solution,our research managed to improve the solution by saving more bandwidth during panorama video streaming.Our research proposed a panorama video streaming system based on the Smart Media Transport protocol which is designed for new media types such as panorama videos.Since selforganized media content and heterogeneous network compatibility are the outstanding attributes of SMT,our solution delivers the high quality part through Internet when the low quality part is delivered by broadcasting network in live streaming.By taking advantage of heterogeneous network,the bandwidth burden on Internet is shared in heterogeneous environment eventually.To realize our solution,new signaling messages are designed for original SMT protocol and the synchronization problem with heterogeneous network is also solved in our research.Based on our streaming solution above,our research further looked into the video partition and quality assignment in panorama video streaming.Since saliency detection of images and videos has been studied in various researches,our research attempted to combine saliency detection with video partition and quality assignment.Due to the particularity of panoramic images and videos,the conventional saliency detection methods can not be applied to panoramic contents properly.To solve this problem,our research proposed a new saliency detection method for panoramic contents.Based on this method,we further researched the video partition and quality assignment schemes according to the video saliency map.
