Image enhancement technology is regarded as an important way in the image processing technology.In practical applications,the quality of digital image will be reduced due to the poor shooting environment and the addition of transmission noise.The image enhancement processing can effectively remove the noise of the image,enhance the edge of the image,highlight the key information,and remove or weaken the unnecessary or non-essential information so that it could be more suitable for human observation or machinery identification.By far,image enhancement technology has been widely applied to the various industries,such as military,agriculture,aerospace,medicine,meteorology,electronic technology,smart home etc.According to the application requirements of different fields,domestic and foreign scholars have been constantly studying new image enhancement techniques and algorithms.Therefore,the research on image enhancement technology has great practical and academic value.The paper will have deeply research upon the image improvement technology and ways.The key points include as below.1)Traditional digital image enhancement techniques--theory,algorithm and application,including quality evaluation,enhancement classification,image smoothing and sharpening by spatial and frequency domain filtering.The advantages and limitations,which are commonly used in the way of image enhancement,will be compared and analyzed.Additionally,this paper will also discuss about the applicable environment and the performance evaluation of the image enhancement methods.2)Three improved image enhancement algorithms based on the combination of time and frequency domain are proposed: one is to enhance the gray-scale image;the other is to enhance the RGB color image;the third is the research of the color image de-fogging technology.3)To make use of the graphical user interface(GUI)of MATLAB to design a visual interactive demonstration system as well as the digital image enhancement methods.In the system,by the way of the selection of different types of image enhancement processing technology,user can input or control parameters,also visually compare and save the results in the interface.Figure 24;Table 3;Reference 48.
