The mobile embedded devices are being used in more and more application scenarios now.They need to satisfy the requirements of various complex use-cases in real applications,especially the requirement on the power consumption when device is running.The intelligent wearable device emerging recent years is one of them.This thesis designed an embedded system for intelligent wearable devices basing on a SoC chip which integrates Sensor Hub internally.The major work focus on system software,sensor software and system power management.The Sensor Hub in the SoC manages the states of modules in SoC to save power and it can also manage the connected sensors.Linux and Andorid run on the main processor.Embedded operating system and power management software run on the MCU in Sensor Hub.They cooperate with each other,manage hardware and provide good user experience.In this thesis a brief of the embedded system for intelligent wearable devices is introduced first.Then then design target and design requirement,the hardware platform and software design scheme are introudced seperately.The system software running on main processor and softwares on Sensor Hub are presented in details.Then the heartbeat detection application and an algotherim of counting steps are introduced.Software verification code are written to verify the functionality of Sensor Hub,and the power is evaluated on real circuit board.From the power evaluation result,the idle power of the system can be lowered significantly.Currently there are already some Sensor Hub chips to process the data from sensors and they can reduce the power of system by making the main CPU entering sleeping mode.In contrast,our work integrated the Sensor Hub into SoC and stand-alone Sensor Hub chip is not required.So that the cost of the system and complexity can be reduced.And the product can have significant market competitiveness in the market of intelligent wearable devices.
