Gesture recognition,as a way of human-machine interaction,brings convenience and fun to people's lives.Gesture recognition which bases on millimeter-wave radar technology has become a research focus for its various advantages,such as being responsive,being unaffected by light,possessing high accuracy,small volume as well as voluntary recognition.The millimeter-wave radar currently used for gesture recognition is mostly a linear frequency modulation continuous wave system,whose signal system is single.The gesture recognition millimeter-wave radar designed in this project is based on a general-purpose communication chip design and can send and receive arbitrary modulation system signals.It provides the necessary hardware support for extracting richer target echo parameters for the back-end radar signal processing algorithm.This project set the millimeter-wave radar of OFDM system as the research content,to the design and implements of the gesture recognition millimeter-wave radar which is used to control multimedia in vehicles.The main research contents of this paper are as follows:The first step was to design the gesture recognition millimeter-wave radar system scheme.Firstly,we chose the application scenario and defined the functional requirements and then combined radar-based hand gesture recognition principles to design the system scheme,analyze and determine the performance indicators;finally,we determined the radar technical indicators according to the system scheme and radar performance indicators.The second step was to analysis and design of millimeter-wave radar hardware solutions and circuits.Firstly,according to the system plan and radar technical indicators,we determined the hardware scheme of the millimeter wave radar.Secondly,according to the hardware scheme,we determined the key chip selection,analyzed the hardware feasibility according to the hardware scheme;finally,we completed the hardware schematic design,PCB design,etc.The third step was to design,simulate and optimize the antenna and balun structure.Firstly,we determined the antenna index and designed the plan and then according to the principle of microstrip antenna,combined the antenna index to complete the antenna array element design;next,basing on the design of the rectangular array element,we completed the design of the feed network,transmitting antenna,and receiving antenna;finally,according to the loop bridge,we completed the design of the microstrip balun structure.Finally,it is confirmed that the clock module of the gesture recognition millimeterwave radar designed by this project meets the requirements of performance index and the receiver can receive the target echo signal of the transmission signal and obtain the baseband signal through down-convert,It shows that the gesture recognition millimeter wave radar designed in this paper meets the requirements of gesture recognition.
