Wireless sensor networks are widely applied in many application scenarios. However,as wireless sensor networks are resource constrained, the basic problems(such as network deployment and routing)of wireless sensor networks differ from those of traditional networks and need special optimization.By introducing mobile elements into wireless sensor networks and studying their dynamic paths, new solutions for the problems of wireless sensor networks can be obtained. This thesis studies the application of dynamic path technology in wireless sensor networks, particularly in intrusion detection and data collection tasks.Intrusion detection is an important application scenario of wireless sensor networks.Empowered intruders may acquire the location information of sensors and perform path planning to avoid being detected.Existing intrusion detection schemes cannot effectively detect such intruders. In order meet the challenge brought by empowered intruders,an intrusion detection scheme based on hybrid sensor networks is proposed. It includes a target tracking method of mobile sensors and a sleeping schedule mechanism of static sensors.Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves improved intrusion detection against empowered intruders with reasonable power consumption, compared with existing methods.Data collection is a basic function of wireless sensor networks.Large-scale wireless sensor networks bring new challenges for data collection tasks. In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)have been introduced into wireless sensor networks to provide new solution for data collection problems. In this thesis,a UAV-based data collection scheme for large-scale sensor networks is proposed. The proposed scheme consists of a clustering algorithm for sensor nodes and a path planning algorithm for the UAV.The clustering algorithm generates clusters to form a minimal dominate set of the network, and the path planning algorithm calculates the shortest path for the UAV to traverse the network.Simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves desirable data collection efficiency and prolongs network lifetime.
