As we all know,the development quality of the user interface involves the ease of use and user experience of the device.It is necessary to have an easily learned method to provide designers with a structural design process and support for modeling technology.IBM's interface development methodology OVID(Object,View and Interaction Design)is widely adopted in today's industry because of the following three salient features: First,the user-centered design(UCD)idea is adopted to introduce users' task characteristics into the design process.Secondly,object-oriented user interface(OOUI)modeling technology is adopted to treat interactive elements(attributes,behaviors,and relationships)as objects.Furthermore,the design process is divided into two different stages: Abstract design and physical design.The former uses a device-independent approach to model the abstraction of interactive elements,the later considers physical implementation problems on special devices.They meet the needs of today's device diversity.However,OVID itself lacks a structured design strategy and design rule to map the abstract model of the interface to the physical model on the specific device,which will cause the following problems: First,The conversion process from the abstract model to the user-visible physical model needs to rely entirely on the experience of the software developer,and there may be a risk of increasing the number of interface iterations due to the low quality of the end user interface.Secondly,the industry cannot directly generate a good user interface under the guidance of OVID,which is not conducive to the promotion and application of OVID.To some extent,it may increase the complexity of interface development,increase the cost,and affect the efficiency of software development.In view of the above problems,this paper proposes an improved user interface design model.By researching the related technologies and methods used to guarantee usability in the field of human-computer interaction,we choose to introduce the usability pattern as the conversion guide from abstract design model to the physical design model,design a model transformation method and design a pattern`s selection rule according to the structural characteristics of pattern.In order to assist software developers to semi-automatically develop high-quality user interface,we propose a user interface markup language HU-UIML(High Usability-User Interface Markup Language),provide a specific description of the pattern.Through the case analysis and the corresponding usability evaluation,it is verified that the improved user interface design model can effectively improve the user interface development efficiency while reducing the cost.
