Device-to-device(D2D)communications is a new paradigm which is promising for facilitating future technologies such as the 5G and Internet of Things(IoT).Its pervasive communication features may alleviate problems in terms of traffic explosion and ultra-low latency.Although the advantages, there are still issues with integrating it into specific scenarios in terms of caching and forwarding strategies. As such, this paper suggests integrating Named Data Networking(NDN)into the D2D scenario to utilize the on-path caching resource.Along with the integration, this paper presents a Potential-Based Routing(PBR)strategy. The potential is defined by the content quality as well as nodes'proximity with other nodes. The PBR makes routing decisions based on the potential of each node to find the optimal path. The simulation results indicate that the proposed scheme could improve the performance in terms of average response delay and cache hit rate as compared to the conventional baseline solutions. |
