With the rapid development and wide application of cloud computing and cloud services,more and more applications and data,including personal privacy,trade secrets,and even national security secrets,have been moved to the cloud.Huge loss would be resulted if these data were stolen.With varieties of illegal web intrusion at all the times,people ask for cloud systems and applications with higher security mechanism.Cloud security has therefore become an increasingly important issue in recent years.Among them,login on cloud terminal and access control is the most fundamental security issue to be dealt with.The conventional way to authenticate in Windows OS terminal is using the ID and password verification.However,the single password authentication mechanism is easy to be stolen or copied,and so it can not meet the high security needs in current cloud application.Aiming at improving the security of the authentication mechanism of Windows OS cloud terminal,this paper presents a continuous multi-factor authentication system for cloud application based on the face recognition technique.With the addition of the continuous face recognition authentication besides the usual Windows OS ID and password verification,a multi-factor,continuous authentication system is built for the login and access control of the Windows cloud terminal.The content of the paper is as follows.Firstly the shortcomings of the existing authentication mechanism of the Windows cloud terminal and the necessity to improve are described.The mechanism to combine the face recognition authentication with the usual ID and password verification is then presented.Followed is the description of the entire system structure,the design and implementation details,and the experimental results under the real application environment.The results demonstrate that the system developed can greatly improve the security level of the Windows cloud terminal,and could find widespread applications in reality.
