With the development of the photoelectric imaging technology,the visible-light TV imaging system has been widely used in the aspects of military industry,medical diagnosis and space remote sensing.In the military field,the function distance of the TV imaging system is a key index for evaluating the performance of the system,which is of great significance to the overall design of the system and the R & D of the product.Based on the Minimum Resolution Contrast(MRC),this paper designs a set of detection system,which includes the target generator unit,the image processing unit and the operating range estimation unit,to realize the objective evaluation of the operating range.The following areas of work have been completed:Firstly,the target generator is designed according to the performance evaluation model of the television imaging system and the detection principle of the operating range,which can provide the test pattern of continuously varying contrast for the measured imaging system.On the basis of STM32,the PID control algorithm is used to control the stepping motor,so that the brightness of the target generator can be adjusted accurately.Secondly,in order to solve the problem that the measurement result is not objective when the human eye is used as the receiving device,the discrimination method based on the human eye vision model is put forward by combining the digital image processing technology,and the objective measurement of the MRC of the imaging system under test is completed.Then,combining the background characteristics of the target,atmospheric transmission theory and Johnson's criterion,a model for evaluating the range of action is established,and an algorithm for calculating the range of action is given.Finally,the CMOS camera is used as the tested object to verify the evaluation model,and the MATLAB is used to complete the simulation calculation of the operating distance.The objective evaluation method based on MRC takes into account the effects of target size and system detection level on the range of action,as well as the effects of atmospheric transmission,optical system and sensors on the target.The measurement results can be obtained more objectively by the calculation of the interaction distance model.
