Resear Ch On The Relationship Between Social Media Usage,Online Social Suppor T And Loneliness Of "Empty-Nest Youth"

According to Ali data of 2017,the number of "Empty-Nest Youth" groups in China has exceeded 50 million.The spread of loneliness have become their biggest dilemmas.As the most frequently used social media for "Empty-Nest Youth",WeChat has become an important medium for maintaining and expanding social networks and connecting with others.So how the use of WeChat affects the loneliness of "Empty-Nest Youth"will be the focus of this study,and at the same time this study will introduce network social support to explore the relationship between the three.The study used two research methods:interviews and questionnaires.The interview found that the important factors affecting the loneliness of "Empty-Nest Youth" are the lack of emotional support for living alone,the lack of support from friends because of the narrowing social circles,and differences in personality and social skills.One-on-one chat,group chat and circle of friends of WeChat have become the three most frequently used functions of "Empty-Nest Youth".Through these three functions,they can get affection support and peer support.In addition,information support and instrumental support are available through other WeChat features.Through the survey,the researcher found that:The "Empty-Nest Youth" in the first-tier cities has the highest intensity of use.The older the age,the higher the disposable monthly income,and the longer the single-person residence,the higher the use intensity of WeChat.The higher the WeChat use intensity,the higher the use preference of WeChat for "Empty-Nest Youth".Gender and education level influence the online social support of "Empty-Nest Youth" using WeChat.The higher the WeChat use intensity and the higher the WeChat usage preference,the network obtained by the "empty youth" The higher the social support.The loneliness of"Empty-Nest Youth" is at a high level.The working city,the level of education,and the length of solitary residence affect the degree of loneliness of "Empty-Nest Youth".WeChat usage preferences of "Empty-Nest Youth" can positively predict their loneliness.Peer support and affection support in online social support can negatively predict their loneliness.The study found that "Empty Nest Youth" can reduce the loneliness experience by shortening the length of living alone,improving social skills and expanding social circles.They can also use the WeChat to strengthen interpersonal communication to gain affection support and peer support,thus alleviating your loneliness.I believe that the use of WeChat can help "Empty-Nest Youth" no longer be lonely,and struggling in big cities can also get happiness.
