High-quality optical resonators have broad application prospects in the fields of optical integration,optical communication,and optical sensing,and require accurate measurement and characterization of their spectral characteristics,including amplitude and phase response.Optical vector network analysis technology is currently the only method that can simultaneously measure the amplitude and phase response of optical resonators.However,due to the narrow resonant bandwidth of the resonator and the severe frequency drift of the optical local oscillator source,it is impossible to accurately measure the characteristics of high quality optical resonators.To solve the above problem,this thesis proposes and studies the high precision optical vector network analysis technology based on Pound-Drever-Hall frequency stabilization technology.The measurement bottleneck of the amplitude frequency and phase frequency response characteristics of high quality optical resonators is effectively solved.The specific research of this thesis are as follows:1.Focusing on the difficulties of vector network analysis and measurement of high-quality optical resonators,PDH frequency stabilization technology is applied to optical vector network analysis system for the first time.On this basis,the transmission characteristics of high quality optical resonators can be accurately measured by using symmetrical bilateral band modulation and double frequency receiving architecture.2.For the vector network measurement requirements of high quality optical resonators,the working principle model of optical vector network analysis system based on symmetric double-sideband modulation and double-frequency receiving architecture is constructed.The influence of electro-optic modulation nonlinearity on the measurement accuracy of the optical vector network scheme is analyzed by numerical simulation.3.Finally,the optical vector network measurement system based on PDH frequency stabilization technology is experimentally validated.The transmission characteristics of F-P cavity with Q value of 4.02×105 are measured accurately and the duration of the stable measurement is more than 90 minutes.It is proved that this technique has a good application prospect in the accurate measurement of the spectral response characteristic parameters of high quality optical resonators.
