Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR)is an active microwave imaging system,which can not be affected by meteorological conditions and can provide two-dimensional(2-D)high-resolution images of the observed areas in wicked environment.Using these capability,SAR has played an important role in geological exploration,flood monitoring,terrain mapping,and national defense construction.In order to simulate SAR imaging process and achieve detection and recognition based on SAR imagery,a multi-functional SAR simulation processing software which includes echo simulation,imaging,edge detection,bridge recognition and imagery pre-processing based on the Microsoft Visual Studio(VS)platform is constructed in this thesis.The main construction is shown as following:First,the SAR imaging principle and imaging algorithms under different working modes are studied and analyzed in chapter II.Eight performance evaluation parameters such as peak sidelobe ratio,integral sidelobe ratio,resolution,radiation resolution,and image information entropy were used to analyze the performance of the imaging algorithms,which laid a foundation for the target detection and recognition based on SAR imagery.Second,the river extraction and bridge recognition of GF-3 SAR image are studied in chapter III.Taking the characteristics of low grayscale,large area,and continuous waters of river in SAR image into account,a river extraction method based on river gray threshold and adjacency rules is adopted to achieve river area extraction in this thesis.Then use the geometry of bridges and river to obtain potential bridge areas in SAR imagery.Additionally,considering the distortion of bridge in GF-3 SAR imagery,a bridge identification method based on the principle of Pun entropy is adopted in this thesis which utilizes the radiation characteristics of the local area of the bridge.The simulation results show that this approach can accurately complete the water extraction and reduce the false alarm probability of bridge recognition.Third,combaining the image segmentation technique with the Ratio algorithm to detect the edge of the SAR imagery is studied in chapter VI.For one thing,the image is segmented by using the non-local spatial information fuzzy average clustering(FCM-NLS)algorithm.And then the edge line is extracted from the segmented image.Considering the influence of noise and other factors,the edge direction information obtained by Ratio is used to set the edge connection conditions and connect the broken edge lines.Moverover,the shortest line is deleteed to obtain the final edge detection result.The experimental results show that the method can reduce the number of false edges with accurately locating the edge of the image.Final,the SAR simulation software is achieved in chapter V.Combining the idea of software engineering with the the functional requirements of the SAR simulation software,the overall framework of the software is designed by using a hierarchical architecture combined with a service-oriented architecture model.Furthermore,the design for echo image,quality assessment,edge detection,river detection,and image preprocessing module including image filtering,image brightness,contrast adjustment of software are completed.
