Light field display system,which based on the micro lens array,has the advantages of naked eye viewing,complete parallax,and continuous viewpoint.With the rapid improvement of computer performance and technology,parallel rendering technology has been widely used in the field of generating multi-view images.Stochastic progressive photon mapping algorithm is parallelized in the thesis,so it can use parallel power of GPU.The parallel algorithm is then applied to light field content production platform for speeding up the rendering of multi-view images.The parallel algorithm of stochastic progressive photon mapping algorithm uses GPU-based multi-thread BVH acceleration structure,and improves the photon generation and collection methods.Finally,the algorithm is integrated into the light field content production platform.The main contents are as follows:Summarize the research status of photon mapping series algorithms,and then describe the rendering scene management algorithm,photon generation and photon collection methods optimization,progressive photon mapping and photon mapping parallelization,analyze the advantages and disadvantages of different schemes.Based on the principle of stochastic progressive photon mapping algorithm,the GPU-based parallelized photon mapping algorithm is designed.New algorithm focuses on rendering efficiency of the photon mapping algorithm.Based on light field display technology,two traditional schemes of computer-generated multi-viewpoints have been summarized.Then,a new scheme combining parallel stochastic progressive photon mapping algorithm and light field content production platform has been presented.Parallel stochastic progressive photon mapping algorithm only needs 60%of render time of Monte Carlo path tracing to generate images.The algorithm speeds up the rendering efficiency of light field resources and achive the goal of generating light field display resources quickly.
