With the vigorous development of China's infrastructure construction,there are more and more large-scale venues and halls.Hall buildings always have a huge volume but also accompanied by dense crowds,so the quality of language transmission within the hall is very important.In order to measure the quality of language transmission in the hall,people have proposed the concept of hall speech intelligibility.In many fire alarm standards and building standards of China,speech intelligibility is regarded as an important indicator for acceptance of acoustic environment.In order to measure the articulation of hall language conveniently and accurately,this paper proposes a method of evaluating the speech intelligibility based on envelope regression.First of all,the research background of hall speech intelligibility evaluation,the domestic and foreign development,and the main factors affecting the hall speech intelligibility are analyzed and introduced in this paper.Then,the key analysis of the speech intelligibility evaluation method based on envelope regression is carried out.It is mainly divided into signal preprocessing,band segmentation,envelope calculation,speech intelligibility estimation and estimation of weighting factor by least squares method.At the same time,the original algorithm is improved by using the Gammatone filter bank,and the improved effect is simulated and analyzed.Then,the system software is designed,which is to design a system software for hall speech intelligibility evaluation according to the actual application scenario.In the VS2012 environment,speech signal reception,speech intelligibility algorithm calculation and host computer display interface are completed.Finally,the hall speech intelligibility based on improved envelope regression proposed in this paper is tested in the field environment.The integrity of the system data reception is verified using the AWA6221B acoustic calibrator.After the test,the GER-STI test results were compared with the subjective speech intelligibility and the language transfer index(STIPA)of the sound reinforcement system.It was found that the GER-STI method has a high correlation with the subjective clarity score and the language transfer index.It shows that the evaluation method proposed in this paper can be used for hall speech intelligibility evaluation.
