With the development of science and technology, more and more working platforms need to have radar, communications and other electronic devices at the same time.Although the coexistence of these electronic devices enhances the versatility of the system, but it results in mutual interference between systems, increases the volume and weight of the equipment, and reduces maneuverability. Therefore, the integration of radar systems and communication systems is an inevitable trend. At the same time,in order to improve the survivability of electronic transmitters on the battlefield, the low probability of intercept(LPI)performance of the integrated system must be improved. It can quantitatively evaluate the LPI performance of the integrated system,so that it can provide a guide for the design of radar communication integrated signal transmitter, thereby improving the LPI performance of the radar communication integrated system. In view of the LPI performance evaluation of the signal in the existing methods, the impact of the system parameters is not fully considered, and the quantitative evaluation of LPI performance is rarely used to guide the design of radar communication integrated waveforms. The purpose of this thesis is to study the method of quantitatively evaluating the LPI performance of radar communication integrated system from the perspective of LPI performance, and design an integrated waveform with good LPI performance.First, this thesis proposes a method for quantitatively assessing LPI performance for a spread spectrum radar communication integrated system, and established a probability model for intercepting radar information by a radar reconnaissance aircraft and a normalized communication interception distance of a communication reconnaissance aircraft. So that this method can quantitatively evaluate the LPI performance of the system, and quantitatively describe the impact of system parameters on the LPI performance of the radar communication integrated system. The simulation results show that the proposed method is accurate and reliable, and the factors affecting the LPI performance are analyzed. Then, for the current radar communication integrated waveforms design, there are few quantitative evaluations of LPI performance for analysis and guidance, and considerations for the LPI performance are not comprehensive. This thesis proposes a composite modulation radar communication integrated waveforms design method, which allows communication symbols to be loaded into the Barker code and then performs interpulse modulation, and performs intra-pulse linear frequency modulation. The analysis of the signal waveform, frequency spectrum, and ambiguity function shows that the detection performance of the waveform designed by this method is good. Finally, according to the LPI performance evaluation method proposed in this thesis, the LPI performance of this integrated waveform is simulated and compared. The results show that the proposed integrated signal has a good LPI performance.
