With the rapid development of information technology,information security is becoming more and more serious and the traditional identity authentication technology has been unable to meet the high requirements of security.Because of its high reliability,biometrics has attracted a lot of attention.As one of the most representative technologies in biometrics,iris recognition technology has many advantages,such as high stability,high security,living recognition and no-invasion and has become a research hotspot.it is significant to research how to improve the recognition speed of iris recognition system.In this paper,based on the detailed introduction and analysis of the components of the iris recognition system,It is focused on the iris feature extraction and matching stage.In the process of iris images acquisition,the iris images have some rotation angles,which will seriously affect the performance of iris recognition system,due to the inclination of the human head.Based on the analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing method to solve the problem of iris image rotation,such as the cyclic shift algorithm and rotation angle estimation algorithm,the paper puts forward a method of step matching to accelerate the process of iris feature matching.In this paper,it is focused on the alignment of iris matching process.After analyzing the characteristics of iris code,the paper use the sampling method to quickly find the alignment position of the iris codes matching.At the same time,it is proved that step matching algorithm can not only accelerate the matching process,but also ensure the recognition system without deterioration of recognition performance.Finally,based on step matching algorithm,this paper conducts a further study and puts forward two improved methods that achieve faster acceleration space with the slight degradation of the performance of the recognition system.In this paper,the iris image is derived from the CASIA1.0 iris image database,and all experiments are carried out in MATLAB and LINUX/C platform respectively.The experimental results show that the step matching algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve a faster matching speed without degradation of the recognition performance of iris recognition system.
