At present,researchers mainly use the visual library to decode a random specified video frame in the distributed video.This method needs to obtain all of the frame data from the first frame of the video to the specified video frame when decoding the specified video frame.So this method is very inefficient.In addition,these video frame data are likely to be not on the same node with the specified video frame.So this method also brings serious problems of data transmission between nodes and inter frame relationship maintenance,thus affecting the design and operation efficiency of distributed video analysis programs.Therefore,the design of video frame random reading method based on video metadata service is proposed in this paper.In this method,When decoding a random specified video frame in distributed video,we can quickly locate and decode the specified video frame by using the video metadata service designed in this paper.The scheme does not need to get all video frames data between the first frame of the video and the specified video frame,so as to avoid serious data transmission between nodes.Video metadata is a collection of video information generated according to the video file stored on the distributed file system.The frame number stored in the video metadata solves the problem of interframe relationship retention between different nodes.Video metadata service provides distributed video analysis applications with video file writing services,video metadata management services,and video metadata information search and reading service,solves the problems of video metadata generation,organization,management and efficiency of reading.Video metadata service system consists of five components: cluster monitoring component,video file storage component,video metadata storage component,video metadata server cluster and cluster client.Cluster monitoring component provides real-time monitoring and failover functions for video metadata storage component and server cluster.Video metadata server cluster is designed with the master-slave structure to support the dynamic expansion of the server.So the video metadata service system designed in this paper has good robustness and scalability.
