Combiners are frequency selective components.They are widely used in areas like wireless communication,radar and satellite.Combiners are used for combing several antennas together to share the same transmitter or receiver.It can also be used for transmitter and receiver sharing a same antenna.It always needs high isolation,because the huge energy produced from the transmitter may leak into the receiver and burn it down.Nowadays,Spectrum resources are getting more and more crowded,and the evolution of communication is very fast.The frequency selective devices like combiners are attracting more and more attention.Designing high performance,low cost components are of highly importance in engineering.This paper is about designing and optimizing method combiners.Started from designing filters,filters are combined together and form a diplexer or combiner.The main work and contribution are as follows:Basic theory of designing filters is introduced.Synthesis theory of combiner is also proposed.We introduced the general structure and constituent elements of diplexers and combiners.Filter selection in different conditions is also analyzed.Two combiners designed for stadium antenna working at 1710-2170/2300-2700 MHz are designed.One of them is based on stub loaded structure.The other one utilizes a novel structure combining the bandpass filter with a band stop resonator in order to achieve better roll-off.This combiner has higher isolation and out of band suppression.Designing progress of two triband combiners used in base station is given.They are both designed by using stub loaded structure.One of the triband combiner works at 350-470/698-960/1710-2700 MHz,it is used for broadcasting,television and mobile communication.The other one is at 698-960/1710-2700/3300-3800 MHz,designed for television and mobile communication.it also contains one of the 5G telecommunication band.A five way combiner working at 698-960/1400-1600/1710-2700/3300-3800/4900-6000 MHz is simulated.This combiner covers television,2G-4G communication and the 5G band divided by Ministry of Industry and Information rescently.In this paper,the five way combiner is divided into 4 two-way combiners,and be decigned separately.
