Modern wireless communication systems are rapidly developing in the direction of miniaturization,integration,low cost and high performance.Power amplifiers and filters are the key devices in the transceiver front-end of wireless communication systems,which are usually designed independently.Therefore,the independent designed power amplifier and filter need to be connected through a 50 ohm transmission line to achieve the function of signal amplification and filtering.The introduction of additional transmission lines will inevitably increase the size of the system,and will bring some loss,resulting in a reduction in output efficiency.In order to solve this problem,the integration of the power amplifier and filter(called filtering power amplifier)has been widely studied in recent years.At the same time with the power amplifier filter amplifier and filter two functions in the passband can not only achieve efficient amplification characteristics,but also make the band with high selectivity,compared with the previous power amplifier has a huge advantage.In this paper,based on the harmonic load pull theory to obtain the optimum power amplifier output impedance and harmonic phase high efficiency area.Then,according to the difference of its output matching network,four filter power amplifiers are designed.1?1/4 wavelength SIR microstrip filter power amplifier.By comparing the filter power amplifier with the traditional design method,the superiority of the co-design is proved.2?SLR type microstrip filter power amplifier.This filter power amplifier using resonant microstrip filter unit is a stub loaded resonator filter as the output matching network power amplifier.The output power is about 40 dBm,and the output efficiency is greater than 68%,the maximum output efficiency is 72.4%,at the frequency of the 2.37-2.55 GHz.3?SIR type suspended substrate stripline(SSS)filter power amplifier.The microstrip dielectric substrate is wrapped through a metal cavity,which reduces the dielectric loss and improves the output efficiency of the filter power amplifier.This filter power amplifier achieves the output power of 40 dBm at the frequency of 2.23-2.57 GHz,and the output efficiency is more than 65%.The output efficiency of the filter power amplifier is more than65% and the bandwidth is up to 340 MHz.The maximum output efficiency is 76.6%.4?SLR type suspended substrate stripline filter power amplifier.By transforming the output port from the gap coupling to direct coupling,a transmission zeros on the right side of the passband can be added,thereby improving the passband selectivity of the filter power amplifier.The filter power amplifier finally realized the output power of 40 dBm and output efficiency of more than 65% at the frequency of 2.33-2.57 GHz.The maximum output efficiency is 78%.
