In recent years,with the rapid development of mobile internet,location-based services have been favored by more and more people.According to statistics,until 2018,the number of smartphone users will reach 4.5 billion,of which the number of LTE users will reach 2 billion.These users generate huge amounts of data,one type of which is signaling data.These signaling data contains rich location information,therefore,these data can be used to get realtime locations of users and this system overcome the shortcoming of GPS positioning system in a certain scene with low accuracy,high energy consumption.Locations of large population can be used to reveal commuting habits,wireless network troubleshooting and hotspot detection,etc.This paper propose a new fingerprinting localization system based on signaling data,which named LTELoc.LTELoc tries to solve how to get the real-time location of users accurately by using signaling data.First of all,we only use TA and RSRP data in LTE standard to locate.The combination of(TA,RSRP)is used as a signature,and one can expect that different locations will have distinctive signature.TA value corresponds to the length of time a signal takes to reach the base location from a mobile phone.Therefore,given the speed of light,it is equivalent to the distance between the user device and the cell tower.RSRP is defined as the linear average power(in Watts)of the Resource Elements(REs)that carry cellspecific Reference Signals within the considered bandwidth.Through the analysis of massive data,we find TA and RSRP is relatively stable,and therefore a good signature for localization.LTELoc uses the new filtering algorithm to clean data and filter out the exact TA value.After that,map matching algorithm based on Hidden Markov model is used to locate the user.In order to evaluate the performance of LTELoc,we collected 800 kilometers of travel data in Dalian.The experimental results shows that LTELoc achieves a median localization accuracy at around 25 m.
