Converged Data Center Networks integrate multiple network architectures,reducing the overhead of infrastructure.However,existing QoS solutions such as Multi-Protocol Label Switching and Traffic Engineering require experienced administrators to manually pre-configure,achieving high implemention complexity.Moreover,as the common opensource virtual switch in virtualization architecture nowadays,OpenvSwitch lacks distinguishing mechanism for different applications,ability to adjust QoS adaption with current network state,and support of adaptive QoS guarantee service for various applications.Based on the difficulties of complex management of converged data center and virtualization networks,a software defined network prototype distinguishing QoS guarantees of services is proposed for OpenvSwitch.Models of Traffic classification tag,traffic shaping,dynamic controller scheduling and shortest-delay routing are designed and implemented.Classificating traffic according to the different priorities of applications enable distinguishing functionality.To implement adaptive QoS,network state would be monitored,bandwidths of each priority traffic would be adjusted,and best routing would be chosen based on shortest-delay path.Testing and analyzing proposed software defined OVS system of QoS guarantee on virtualization platform.The experimental results show that proposed software defined QoS guarantee policy possesses fine-grained control mechanism to guarantee various requirements of different application traffics and achieve QoS adaption.Moreover,without the need for administrators to manually pre-configure,the system fully shows the advantage of converged network.
