Flexible alternating current electroluminescent(ACEL)devices are widely used in liquid-crystal display,back-lighting,large-scale architectural decorative lighting due to their uniform light emission,low power consumption and high resolution.However,presently how to acquire high brightness under a certain voltage is confronted with challenges.Here,we added tetrapod-like ZnO whiskers(T-ZnOw)into the bottom electrode of carbon nanotubes(CNTs)to enhance the emission of electrons,which increase the brightness of the flexible ACEL devices by above 60%.In addition,introducing flexible polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS)ensures the flexible property and a simplifing sandwich structure of the ACEL device containing the bottom electrode,the light-emitting layer and the top electrode.We also investigated the stability of the device,and found that the device still has good light stability and mechanical stability after repeated bending.This work provides a new routine for the development of high performance,flexible and large-area ACEL devices.This work provides important reference for both scientific research and commercial applications.We indicate the two innovations of this work as following: 1.When T-ZnOw was added in the bottom electrode of CNTs,the electron emission under an alternating electric field was increased.In the emission,more electrons are stimulated to flash the fluorescent particles,which enhances the luminance of the ACEL device by above 60 %.2.The uniform dispersing of fluorescent particles into flexible PDMS ensure both the flexibility and uniform light emission of the emission layer.In addition,the insulated PDMS makes the light-emitting layer have the insulation characteristics,and then no extra dielectric layer is needed to add into the device,which simplifies the structure of the devices.
