The form of telecommunication has changed from text and audio to audio and video,with rapid development of network communication technology and network bandwidth.At the same time,many real-time communication software based on SIP or other communication protocols have numerous appeared and are widely used.However,lots of resources are needed for the development,maintenance and updates of client software on multi-platform.On the other hand,real-time communication via browsers is based on plug-ins.Before the appearance of WebRTC technology,the features of network services,like cross-platform,portability,and easy maintenance,are not available because of plug-ins.WebRTC is a technology can provide real-time audio and video communication between browsers without plug-ins.It contains the core technologies for multimedia communications,including audio and video capture,encoding and decoding,network transmission,display and other functions.The real-time communication system based on WebRTC in this paper can divided into two parts:signaling server and application.The signaling server is mainly used for signaling exchange and session management,and the application establish point-to-point connections to transmit real-time media streams,which enabled real-time multimedia communications between WebRTC applications.Paper achieved the interworking part of WebRTC and SIP on the basis of WebRTC real-time communication system,and enabled the communication between the WebRTC system and the SIP system through SIP protocol construction and session media description negotiation.Signaling interaction process transmission,point-to-point connection and session management of WebRTC system were studied.The differences in the format and content between WebRTC signaling and SIP protocol has analyzed and compared,in the part of interworking between WebRTC and SIP,the study focus on the negotiation of SIP protocol construction and session description protocols.The final test experiment shows that the system has negotiated the difference between the two system protocols,it not only realizes the communication between WebRTC applications,but also realizes the communication between WebRTC application and SIP client.
