In recent years,people have had greater demands for energy and are paying more and more attention to energy safety and environmental effect.Renewable energy sources,including wind energy and solar energy,are also getting more and more attention.Of all such renewable energy sources,solar energy produces no noise or pollution during power generation and needs minimum maintenance.Following exposure to high-intensity sunlight for a period,the solar cell panel may generate more energy.However,solar movement and weather variation may affect the output power of the solar cell panel.This article designs a photovoltaic automatic tracking system based on sun trajectory and MPPT maximum power point tracking integration to improve the efficiency of the photovoltaic automatic tracking system.The system consists of the sun trajectory based photovoltaic automatic tracking system and the MPPT maximum power point tracking system.The sun trajectory based photovoltaic automatic tracking system calculates the current time with perpetual calendar chip,calculates the sun orientation and altitude of current position in combination with current longitude and latitude,controls the photovoltaic cell panel for biaxial rotation by driving two motors through the single-chip computer,and finally determines the optimal orientation for the solar panel to receive sunlight.Following implementing the said functions,the author realizes the MPPT-based maximum power point tracking system through external expansion modules,thus realizing maximum power point tracking,improves PID controller with particle swarm algorithm,and conducts MATLAB simulation.Experiment results show that the photovoltaic automatic tracking system based on sun trajectory and MPPT integration can track the sun accurately in different weather conditions.It may automatically control the solar panel to ensure that the MPPT maximum power point tracking function may be realized when the solar panel is perpendicular to the sunlight,thus offering more energy to the battery.
