Object positioning is the important base and premise of Location Based Service.The thrive of data and multimedia services increases the demand for localization under indoor circumstances where the traditional satellite positioning can hardly achieve ideal positioning performance.Thus,indoor positioning has become the focus of the industry.ZigBee,an emerging close-rang technology for wireless communication,has been widely applied in Wireless Sensor Networks because of its low power consumption,low cost and other advantages.On the basis of comparison and analysis of various indoor positioning solutions,Wireless Sensor Network based on ZigBee technology is finally adopted to realize the localization in indoor environment.The main contents of this paper are shown as follows:First of all,location algorithm is studied.With ambient noise taken into consideration,Multidimensional Scaling and Weighted Least Square method is applied to calculate node coordinates.A cooperative approach named WLS-MDS which based on received signal strength is addressed in this paper.The result of simulation demonstrates that the proposed algorithm can achieve an ideal positioning accuracy in some noisy situations with a minority of anchors.Then,an indoor positioning system based on ZigBee is designed.The system is composed of two parts which communicate with each other through the serial port:the wireless positioning network and the host computer monitoring platform.The network nodes take the CC2530 chip combined with Z-Stack as the core of the hardware and realizes the data acquisition function in the IAR integrated development environment.The WLS-MDS algorithm is implemented in the host computer with Matlab language,and the user interface is designed under the GUIDE environment.Finally,the indoor channel model is built up according to the experimental data,and the functions of each part of the system are debugged in the actual environment.
