With the rapid development of computer speed and storage,the industrial inspection technology has developed fast and the demand of detection accuracy has increasingly high.High precision positioning technology of machine vision has become an extremely important part of modern industry,as well as an important technical support for the manufacturing and testing of high-end electronic products.To be the key technology to detect a target,the orientation and extraction of the target is an indispensable part of machine vision.As one of the most important features,edge contains a lot of valuable information of image.That lead edge detection to be the most basic and widely used step in image processing.The accuracy of edge detection has an important influence in the following step of image processing.And high accuracy of edge extraction plays an important role in machine vision system.With the development of science and technology,traditional edge detection in pixel level could not satisfy the modern industry production and the sophisticated demand.Therefore,the edge detection method combine the new theory and the sub-pixel detection receive more attention and research.The image edge detection methods are studied in this paper and the main work is as follows:1)Summarize and introduce the research and application of machine vision technology,and the important position of image processing and analysis in machine vision.As the basic step of image processing and analysis,the accuracy of edge detection affects the practical application of machine vision.It has become a key technical support in many high-tech industries.2)Traditional edge detection methods are based on the first and second order derivative of image intensity to determine edge position.On the basis of this,to the requirement of higher accuracy,people use the method based on interpolation,moment and fitting to reach sub-pixel level.In this paper,a new gradient operator is presented based on Sobel operator.On the basis,the sub-pixel edge position can be located by using spatial moment method.At the same time,the results are compared by using traditional methods and new method.The result shows that a better detection effect can be reached by using new method.3)In this paper,a sets of fuzzy rules are setting up to detect edges in image by using fuzzy inference system.Firstly,a 3×3 mask is used to detect the image point by point,then the 3X3 difference matrix is constructed on every pixel point.The image is analyzed with the fuzzy rules set up in advance,and then the output result is obtained.In order to test the anti-noise performance of this paper's method,add the salt and pepper noise in the original image,respectively,using traditional edge detection methods and this paper's method to detect the edge.The results show that this paper's method can detect the edge effectively,and the anti-noise performance is better.
