In resource-constrained underwater environment, the exposure of location information may pose a threat to the security of the underwater sensor networks(UWSNs)in the process of collecting information. Therefore, how to protect the location security and privacy of the nodes is the main challenge for UWSNs.The information collected by underwater nodes can be transferred to the sink node through multi-hop transmission. For attackers, tracking data packets can get the location information of the sink node.In this paper,we study how to protect the location privacy of the sink node under this kind of attack, and propose a location privacy protection method of the sink node for multiple fake paths. The method mainly includes random routing phase and directed routing phase. The strategy adopted in the random routing phase is to construct the random fake paths by injecting fake packets. In the directed routing phase, facing the situation of not escaping from the monitoring region of the attacker after random routing phase, the method is to launch the multi-hop directed routing so as to avoid the monitoring area of the attacker which could construct the diversity of fake paths and make the directional information invalid to achieve effective protection of the sink node. This thesis analyzes and verifies the proposed location privacy protection method of the sink nodes.Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed method can effectively reduce the probability of attackers tracing to the sink node. The experimental results show that the proposed method increases the time of attackers tracking to the sink node.
