The transfer of images on the Internet is easily copied and pirated. It is most significant to use password techniques in the image transfer. And the encryption algorithms are a basic technology in the study of cryptography. It plays an important role in the transfer of the information security.Nonlinear scientific chaotic theories include the characteristics of sensitivity to parameters and initial value, ergodicity and random similarity which can be combined with the shuffle and diffusion of images. The author concentrates on the information security research of digital chaos theory. Then the related research achievements are completed by Field Programmable Gate Array. In the scramble of the image, the Arnold cat map is chosen and the correlation coefficients of images are compared after different rounds Arnold cat map. Then the condition that the past scheme which made the correlation coefficient is bigger is improved. In the diffusion of images, the image encryption keys are generated by the improved Logistic map and LFSR.Then the condition that the past scheme is harder to be completed in the hardware is improved.FPGA is utilized to realize the chosen chaotic image encryption scheme which is tested by Xilinx Virtex-6 xc6vlx240t.The frequency of FPGA is 200MHz.The results are that the horizontal correlation coefficient and entropy of the past image encryption scheme are 0.8225 and 7.9703.The horizontal correlation coefficient and entropy of the chosen scheme 0.0024 and 7.9980.Compared with the schemes of literature[39]and literature[49],the correlation coefficient and entropy of the chosen scheme are better. The condition shows that the performance and security of encrypted images of the chosen scheme are improved. As a result, this work will have broad application prospects.
