With the popularity of the network and the rapid development of information processing technology,information hiding technology has received more attention and research.Steganography,which embedds secret information into the carrier and uses the shared channel for transmission to achieve the purpose of confidentiality of communication by using the redundancy of humans' sensory organs,is a major branch of information hiding.Its main advantage is to hide the existence of communication.The Graphics interchange format(GIF)image is a common image format of the digital image,especially GIF animated images,which have a large number of transport and application in the internet.There are few steganography for GIF animated images,so it's a great challenge and has an important significance to study the steganography for GIF animated images.1)A novel adaptive steganographic scheme for GIF animated images is proposed.Image pixels are classified as data embeddable or non-embeddable by the adaptive rule of inter frames,which is built by color-luminance variance in the same position and color-luminance average,and the adaptive rule of intra frame,which is built by color-order and color-map.Secret information is embedded into certain frames of the image.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve a good trade-off between stego-image quality and data-embedding capacity.Compared to the other steganographic schemes,the proposed scheme has a high security which guarantees unauthorized persons to extract the secret information extremely difficultly.2)The reversible data hiding method is improved for palette images using the characteristics of the palette image and its histogram in this paper.Based on two pairs of maximum and minimum points,more secret data can be hidden into the images,and the improved method is applied to GIF animated images.First,the palette colors are reordered based on the shortest distance between the neighboring indices,and then shift the color index histogram of the image to embed secret information using the two pairs of maximum and minimum points.Experimental results show that the proposed scheme can achieve a higher data-embedding capacity.
